The year 2026 presents a wealth of opportunities for growth, learning, and exploration. We will explore themes that incorporate more hands-on activities, music and movement, as well as age-appropriate math and language exercises. Our partnership with the Edmonds School District for Kindergarten Readiness will persist, alongside Sno-Isle Library programs like Library-On-Wheels.
In January, we embraced winter and enjoyed reading "The Mitten" by Jan Brett. The children explored the ideas of hot and cold, as well as big and small. Additionally, our preschoolers reinforced their understanding of early literacy and math concepts.
Fern Forest Childcare remains committed to providing high-quality childcare, offering numerous opportunities for every child to excel and grow in all areas of development, including social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language/communication. Our approach integrates early math and literacy through enjoyable, play-based methods. We strongly believe that each child has unique cognitive strengths—such as linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalist—rather than a singular, fixed intelligence. Our goal is to offer activities and learning experiences that cater to various learning styles. We aim to enhance children's engagement, confidence, and holistic development by the time they complete our program.
